I can only suppose that you guys recognize those? LOL
Yes, they're Classics, but Classics that I never got to play. So this is my chance. So, if I only run two of them -- at least to begin with -- which two would you pick? Let me know what you think, I'll be starting the games within the next week.
Thanks for the input!
I'd go with U1 and B2. B1 is kinda fun, but doesn't have as much scope as B2, and personally I don't think much of N1. I think someone (somewhere) in the OSR posted some notes about combining B1, U1, and L1 (The Secret of Bone Hill) into a nifty little low level campaign. Unhelpfully I can't remember who (or where).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lee, I appreciate your input. I am leaning in that direction. I don't want to run either module "straight," but will be adapting them to my "idea" of the World of Greyhawk. The modules will definitely be serving as the basis for the game, however.
DeleteThanks again!
Sorry for the late comment, but U1 and B2. B2 is really excellent, because there are a lot of distinct groups to deal with and varying danger levels. U1 is more linear - one location - but it's an interesting location and a good mix of investigation and combat.
ReplyDeleteB1 is okay, but it's not as entertaining as B2 in my experience. N1 I ran once, and it was pretty good, but it wouldn't be in my top choices to start a campaign.
Thanks, Peter. I've gotten comments elsewhere as well and they're all leaning towards B1 and U1, so it looks like they will be the foundation for my next two RPoL games. (Running more than one)
DeleteI have a player who wanted me to do N1, but so far, everyone "else" is against it. So that one will have to be a "rethink."
Thanks again!
